So you want to make some changes in your life. You want to put yourself first for a change and start taking care of your body and mind. Amazing, right?

But instead of feeling excited, you immediately feel a sense of dread. You ask yourself “what is all of this going to cost me?” You ponder how the changes you want to make will affect your family, friendships, career, and overall lifestyle. You know deep down that what you want next for yourself will change every aspect of your life and relationships, and it feels absolutely terrifying.

 
Having to make compromises also comes with the territory when you’re beginning something new in your life. Your new venture is going to require your mental and physical energy. It’s okay to feel unsettled about making life changes. You’re crossing into new territory, and there are a lot of unknowns involved. One thing’s for sure: if you want your changes to “stick”, you’re going to have to make some compromises.

Now before you say “forget it” and throw in the towel before you even begin, know that making compromises doesn’t mean the end of all things relaxing and fun. If anything, you can look at it as making the most of your energy and clarifying your priorities. No one wants to waste their energy or spend their resources on things that really aren’t important to them, right?
